Soul Players of the Valley
The Soul Players of the Valley (SPV) is a coalition of local Latino community leaders. Antonito, Capulin, San Luis, and South Alamosa. Soul Players of the Valley communities work collectively to create individual, symbiotic plans that are mutually beneficial to all four communities. The communal model encourages communities to lend assistance, resources, and implementation strategies.
Garland Yates
Garland Yates has been a champion of equal rights and justice for all people for over 30 years. He has dedicated most of his professional career to helping poor and working people build the capacity and power to make positive change in their communities and for the betterment of all people. These efforts have included many years of work done through career stints with the likes of the Center for Community Change and the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Rebuilding Communities and Making Connections Comprehensive Community Change Initiatives; all along the way becoming increasingly committed to building the capacity of local communities to bring about sustainable long-term change. More recently, as a senior fellow and managing director of Community Democracy Workshop he continues to work with foundations and communities on strengthening their approaches to meaningfully engage residents in diverse ways on comprehensive community revitalization strategies.

Cec Ortiz is a co-founder Clinica Campesina, a healthcare clinic for low-income families in rural Colorado. She later served as the executive director of Mi Casa Women’s Resource Center for women and girls of color in Denver.
Communities Lead Communities Thrive
Communities Lead, Communities Thrive (CLCT) is a dynamic, statewide coalition of nonprofits responding to systemic challenges faced by historically excluded communities in Colorado.
The coalition’s existence is rooted in recognizing nonprofits as valuable assets that strengthen historically marginalized communities and is focused on community-centered power-building to tackle inequities that create barriers to prosperity in our communities.
Colorado Legal Services
Colorado Legal Services is a non-profit agency that provides free, high-quality civil legal services to eligible low-income Coloradans and seniors.
CLS is led by a board of directors that includes attorneys, people eligible to be represented by CLS, and members of organizations that also serve low-income Coloradans.
RISE Colorado
RISE works alongside the Black, Latino, Burmese, Karen, Karenni, Bhutanese, and Nepali communities as they co-create solutions with school staff and district leaders, leading to an educational ecosystem of collaboration.
CoCEAL
CoCEAL is a coalition of post-secondary and professional educators devoted to the educational success of the state’s LatinX population. The group grew out of a larger, statewide Hispanic Association of College and University group that began to meet in earnest in July of 2008. The intent of the group is to build a sustainable coalition of professional educators at the post-secondary level who will actively participate in the state-level and national post-secondary education agenda with a targeted and particular focus on success for the LatinX residents of the state of Colorado.
